FOLA’s performance on the charts is no surprise given his amazing debut year and rapid climb to fame. Long before his debut album ‘catharsis’ arrived, anticipation had already been building and running high. The eleven-track project was preceded by two singles, ”you” and the Kizz Daniel-featured “lost”, which already set the stage with an impressive start. These records have grazed the charts and accumulated numbers beforehand. “you” released in August, debuted at No. 10 with 14 million streams and has since climbed to No. 2. “lost” made an even stronger entry at No. 4, gathering 36.3 million streams since April. It currently sits at No. 14.
When ‘catharsis’ finally arrived, every released track had made a significant statement as they all appeared on the Official Top Nigeria 100 charts in their first week of release. Following right after “lost” and “you” as the track with the most streams is “eko”, debuting at No. 57 with 5.1 million streams and surging to No. 2. Another highlight, “golibe” featuring Victony, pulled 2.7 million streams in its first week, debuting at No. 9 and climbing to No. 7.
